| Historically
this Gothic Revival brick building was used
by the Mattapan Deposit and Trust Company
and named after its president, Richard J.
Monks. The company conducted both a banking
business as well as acted as a trustee for
estates and trust funds. It was converted
to condominiums in 1987. It stands proudly
on
West Broadway and is one of the most prestigious
buildings that always catches your eye. With
only eight units in the building, the setting
is intimate and the building stays well cared
for. Upcoming projects that the association
would like to pursue are to build a common
roof deck so that everyone has fabulous outdoor
space to enjoy, and they would like to upgrade
the common areas so that the building is
even nicer and grander than it already is.
Both
projects will benefit the new owner of this
condo for years to come.
So much is happening
with this development on West Broadway
as the Seaport fills in and new housing and
retail is created near the Broadway T. This
central location allows you to enjoy both
the East
and West sides of South Boston and is sure
to continue to grow as much more development
is planned. |
